Die umherziehende Saengerin

Repertoire

During the summer I will learn, practice and coach vocal repertoire. This project will culminate in the performance of my senior recital tentatively planned for the week of December 1, 2008 at New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.

The list is posted below and will be updated throughout the summer. Links to texts and translations have been included where possible.

Keep your eyes pealed for additional posts!

Update, 26/6/08: The rep list has been significantly shortened in order to accomodate more focused technique study and my teacher’s familiarity with works. The list still balances my recital repertoire with arias, but all the 20th century repertoire got cut. C’est la vie, non?

The revised list is as follows:

Robert Schumann: Die Sennin, Op, 90, Zigeunerliedchen II, Op. 79, Sängers Trost, Op. 127, Aufträge, Op. 77, Er Ist’s

Benjamin Britten: “Be Kind and Courteous” (Tytania) from A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Giuseppe Verdi: “Volta la terrea” (Oscar) from Un Ballo in Maschera

Giochino Rossini: “Una voce poco fa” (Rosina) from Il Barbiere di Siviglia with ornaments

Maurice Ravel: “Arriere! Je rechauffe les bons” (Fire) from L’Enfant et les Sortilege (alternate)
